PLAYSTATION 4 CONSOLE
The new Playstation 4 console is a new gaming console that is currently under development by Sony Computer Entertainment. Sony has announced that Sony Electronics will manufacture the Playstation 4. The Playstation 4 is projected to be released some time between 2012 and 2018 and is considered highly anticipated. Sony has only given cursory information on the Playstation 4, keeping much of the console specifications secret.
Sony has announced that they plan to make the Playstation 4 console much smaller than previous Sony Playstation models such as the PS3. Sony hopes that the newer, smaller Playstation 4 console will be able to compete with markets in Eastern Asia which typically prefers portable gaming consoles. Sony has also announced that they plan to strengthen the graphics, processing speed, and overall capabilities of the Playstation 4 as compared to the PS3. Sony wants the Playstation 4 to be more marketable and competitive with the forthcoming new Nintendo Wii and Microsoft X-Box consoles as the PS3 remained steadily behind them in sales.
